From September 1st to 2nd, 2025, the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment held its 4th International Academic Committee Meeting at the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbour. Professor Bie Zhaohong, Executive Vice President of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Director of the Laboratory, and Professor Shao Jinyou, Executive Associate Dean of the Academic Affairs Office for Research, attended the meeting. Eleven international academic committee members from countries such as the United States, Croatia, Italy, Japan, and South Korea, as well as leaders from the School of Electrical Engineering and the Laboratory, along with some permanent researchers of the Laboratory, participated in the meeting. The meeting comprised two sessions: academic presentations and a working session.
The international academic committee members highly commended the Laboratory's achievements, noting that the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment has long focused on conducting systematic and in-depth basic research at the forefront of global science and technology in this field. Additionally, it has addressed significant needs in the development of energy and power systems, exerting a broad academic influence in areas such as advanced electrical materials, high-end power equipment, and risk prevention and control in power systems, with promising development prospects. The committee members also recommended that the Laboratory should improve mechanisms for international exchange and mutual visits among researchers, establish international joint centers, and enhance the internationalization level of industry-education integration.
This International Academic Committee Meeting served as a strategic consultation on the development plan following the Laboratory's restructuring, offering professional advice and collective wisdom for organized research, talent cultivation, and international cooperation. It is bound to vigorously drive the high-quality development of the Laboratory.
