From January 17 to 18, 2026, the 1st “Electrifying the Future” Doctoral Forum of Xi’an Jiaotong University, co‑hosted by the
State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment and the School of Electrical Engineering, was successfully held at the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbour. Centered on the theme “Integration of Intelligent Electricity · Innovate for a Shared Future”, the forum aimed to build a high‑level academic exchange platform to foster interdisciplinary integration and intellectual inspiration, unlock the innovation potential of doctoral students, and support the cultivation of future leading talents in electrical engineering.
The forum drew active participation from numerous doctoral students of the school. A total of 123 academic submissions were received, among which 56 were delivered as oral presentations and 67 displayed as posters, showcasing the latest research advances and innovative achievements made by doctoral candidates of XJTU’s electrical engineering discipline across diverse research fields.
The closing ceremony and award ceremony took place at noon on January 18. Professor Lin Shen, representative of off‑campus experts, spoke highly of the forum in her closing address. She remarked that participating doctoral students presented cutting‑edge work with lively thinking and excellent demonstrations, which fully reflected the solid education foundation and vibrant academic vitality of Xi’an Jiaotong University’s electrical engineering discipline. Well‑organized and content‑rich, the forum cultivated a vigorous atmosphere for academic exchange.
Following rigorous evaluation by the review committee, 7 First Prizes, 24 Second Prizes and 34 Third Prizes were selected.
The successful convening of the inaugural “Electrifying the Future” Doctoral Forum marks an important initiative of the laboratory and the school to systematically advance organized research and improve the talent‑training ecosystem. Adopting a multi‑dimensional exchange model combining keynote speeches, thematic sharing, oral reports and poster exhibitions, the forum facilitated in‑depth dialogue and intellectual exchange among faculty and students, different research directions, as well as various universities.
Looking ahead, the laboratory will continuously refine the forum mechanism and diversify exchange formats to develop it into a regular, high‑quality branded academic platform. It will function as a “research accelerator” and “talent incubator”, providing sustained momentum for consolidating the reserve workforce of the discipline and supporting China’s pursuit of high‑level self‑reliance in science and technology.
