Invited by Professor Zhou Renwu and Professor Liu Dingxin from the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment, Dr. Anna Dzimitrowicz and Dr. Piotr Jamróz from Wrocław University of Science and Technology visited Xi’an Jiaotong University. They conducted academic exchanges on discharge plasma technology, plasma chemistry and its applications.
Dr. Anna Dzimitrowicz is an associate professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and a board member of the European Young Academy. Dr. Piotr Jamróz, also an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, is a distinguished European scholar in the interdisciplinary field of atmospheric‑pressure low‑temperature plasma and atomic spectroscopy.
On June 9, the two scholars gave lectures in the Bright Electrical Forum. Dr. Anna Dzimitrowicz talked about non‑thermal plasma treatment for berry fruit juice, illustrating how this technology inactivates microorganisms while preserving nutritional and sensory properties of juice. Dr. Piotr Jamróz reported on cold‑plasma‑activated solutions and discussed their potential to replace conventional pesticides for precision agriculture.
From June 10 to 12, the guests toured the School of Electrical Engineering and the Plasma Biomedicine Center. They had in‑depth discussions with local research teams concerning plasma‑source design, discharge diagnostics and interdisciplinary biomedical applications.
This visit lays a solid foundation for bilateral collaboration. Both sides will further promote joint research and young‑talent training in plasma‑related agriculture, food science and biomedicine to drive breakthroughs in cutting‑edge technologies.
