To respond to the theme of the National Science and Technology Week - "Striving for the 15th Five-Year Plan, Writing a New Chapter with Science and Technology", the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment has launched a two-way interactive popular science series featuring "Going Out" and "Inviting In" initiatives, sowing the seeds of scientific exploration among teenagers.
On May 26th, Professor Liang Deliang visited the Aerospace School of the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University, and delivered the popular science lecture Power That Drives Everything: Electric Vehicles and Electromagnetic Energy Weapons to more than 500 teachers and students. He systematically outlined the panorama of electric drive applications in multiple fields, and transformed cutting-edge technologies into popular and vivid explanations. The event with lively on-site interactions effectively broadened middle school students' horizons of science and technology.


On May 27th, the laboratory jointly held a popular science opening event with multiple partners, inviting more than 200 senior one students and teachers from the Innovation Harbour High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University to participate. Professor Liu Dingxin gave a lecture titled The Fourth State of Matter - Plasma, explaining relevant scientific knowledge starting from common phenomena in daily life. Researcher Zhang Jianxun from the State Key Laboratory of Structural Integrity for Major Equipment in Complex Environments shared the evolution path of aviation technology in his session The Iterative History of Fighter Jets - Faster, Higher, More Stealthy, inspiring students' sense of mission to serve the country with science and technology. Afterwards, the teachers and students visited the science and technology achievement exhibition as well as the two state key laboratories, experiencing cutting-edge scientific research achievements and the dedication spirit of researchers up close.








This two-way interactive popular science series has built a new bridge for science popularization education. In the future, the laboratory will continue to rely on its high-quality science and innovation resources to innovate the form and content of popular science, empower the improvement of teenagers' scientific literacy, and accumulate youthful strength for the country's science and innovation talent reserve.
